He was arrested in December 2019 and was detained for an extended period of 3 years and 7 months. In July 2023, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison for fraud and 1 year and 9 months in prison for picking quarrels and provoking trouble. The combined sentences were 9 years in prison. Before his arrest, he had handled many cases related to industry hegemony, environmental pollution, etc. that were related to people's livelihood rights. He had intervened in the Yang Jia case and the case of pushing the Ministry of Railways not to increase prices during the Spring Festival.
